General Membership Meeting and Election RSVP   EHI will hold its General Membership Meeting and Election of new Board members on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Candidates will compete for four open positions.  Please RSVP if you can attend or if you are not able to attend and would like an absentee ballot (Registration attached). This form must be received by March 20, 2019. Membership Renewal   To date, 46 members have renewed their annual memberships. 6 members have not yet paid dues. If we do not hear from you, we will send a final notice via certified mail to terminate your membership. This may mean that you might not be able to participate in certain health plan contracts. HMSA Patients Seeking PCPs   Due to impending retirements and other issues, a number of HMSA patients are seeking new PCPs. The IPA will help on-board patients to Payment Transformation providers by providing administrative support including gathering records and inputting information to COREO. If you are interested in accepting new patients please let us know by completing this survey NO LATER THAN March 15, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact Joyce at jvitales@ehiipa.com, 808-797-3113.

Beacon Health Options Physician Aid in Dying Workshop – Wednesday, March 20, 5:30-7:30 PM   Please join us for this educational workshop sponsored by Beacon Health Options to learn about physician aid in dying, including understanding the legal requirements of the “Our Care, Our Choice Act.” This seminar will be led by Dr. James Westphal, Beacon Health Options. Approved for 1.5 AAFP prescribed credits. Registration attached.

23rd Annual East Hawaii IPA Healthcare Symposium – “Advancing Care for Patients, Providers & Communities” August 16-18, 2019, at the Fairmont Orchid in Waikoloa.   • HIPAA Online Training – EHI IPA offers online training as a membership benefit for $20 per person. The certification received after successful completion is effective for 2 years.   • Mountain-Pacific Quality Health CMS Million Hearts Hypertension Control Challenge – Applications are now open to practices who want to be recognized in the CMS 2019 Million Hearts Control Challenge. Hawaii has only had one practice meet this challenge in the past and MPQH would like to encourage all providers to join! Visit the website to learn more.

PATIENT RESOURCES

  • Mountain-Pacific Quality Health: New Patient Tool for Heart Health – Check the MPQH website for their heart health calendar. These are free for patients and can start anytime of the year and includes weight logs and health tips. These offer a fun and easy way for patients to monitor their weight. A calendar example (scroll to the bottom for the example) and order form can be found here. Because it is free, there is a limit of 20 calendars per facility.

  • Beacon Health – PCP Referral for Behavioral Health Support – Beacon Health offers behavioral health services for HMSA patients. Attached is the referral form (here), the overview of services (here), and the WHO-5 Well-Being index tool (here).

  • Refer Patients to Complete Their Advanced Health Care Directive at ADRC – March-November dates attached.
