SBIRT – Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to TreatmentThe State Department of Health recently awarded EHI a grant to encourage offices to screen patients for alcohol and drug abuse. This is a national public health problem and the state is trying to put more treatment resources in place. In 2018, we would like to screen as many patients as possible and train staff and providers to provide brief interventions and referral to treatment if possible. The IPA is also prepared to help with brief interventions and assisting patients to get the counseling and other help that they need. We will give physicians and staff an honorarium for participation in the program. This program is open to any office willing to participate but CPC+ physicians will have an added benefit of also fulfilling one of their eCQM measures. Please contact Jane Bontuyan for more information at jbontuyan@ehiipa.com or 808-797-3113. We will recruit offices to participate soon.
