New Board Members EHI’s Annual General Membership Meeting was held at the EHI office. There were 19 members present. Four new Board members were elected at the meeting (absentee ballots included) to the following terms: 2019-2022 Dr. Darrett Choy, Pediatrician, Dr. Erin Kalua, Family Medicine and Dr. Kevin Kurohara, Family Medicine; and 2019-2020 Dr. David Jung, Internal Medicine. Physician Aid in Dying Workshop Rescheduled – Wednesday, April 24, 5:30 PM The Physician Aid in Dying Workshop has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 24 at the EHI IPA office. Approved for 1.5 AAFP prescribed credits. RSVP attached.
OSHA Training Workshop Alan Yamamoto, HIOSH Consultation Project Manager, will offer a two-hour OSHA workshops for East Hawaii IPA Members on OSHA/HIOSH requirements on Tuesday, June 4, location TBD. THIS IS MEANT FOR CLINIC LEADERS WHO WILL CONDUCT THE TRAINING IN EACH OFFICE. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT FOR OSHA/HIOSH TRAINING OF ALL STAFF IN EACH OFFICE. Mr. Yamamoto is willing to schedule individual office visits after the presentation to help assess your compliance. Healthcare Source HR Screening Tool Available for Members – EHI offers member offices use of a complimentary employee screening tool. The tool helps assess whether staff you are thinking of hiring are the right fit for your office! The tool rates candidates numerically by job performance, retention and service excellence. It also customizes key questions for face-to-face interviews. This program has been used successfully by hundreds of healthcare organizations. Candidates are sent a link to the assessment with results forwarded to a designated office email address. These are free for patients and can start anytime of the year and includes weight logs and health tips. These offer a fun and easy way for patients to monitor their weight.
