Sharecare Engagement Measure Deadline Extended
HMSA is giving PCPs more time to complete the Sharecare Engagement measure. The new deadline is December 31, 2017. PCPs are asked to submit their photos to HMSA through EHI (or to have the photo taken by HMSA). Sharecare sends an email to the PCP, enabling the provider to log into his/her Sharecare account to review and edit his/her profile. Both elements (photo and log-in) must be completed by December 31 to receive credit for this measure. Since many PCPs have not responded to the Sharecare email, HMSA will be sending emails directly to PCPs. They will be instructed to go to sharecare.com and use their own email address and an assigned temporary password to open an account. They will be able to view their profile, completing all requirements.
Sharecare’s Find a Doctor application currently does not include profiles for APRNs and Physician Assistants. Therefore, those two PCP types will be given automatic credit for the Engagement measure.
EPSDT Completion Rate
The PCP Engagement Measure, EPSDT Completion Rate, is now being displayed on Cozeva. PCPs will not be scored on this measure in 2017, but will be held accountable for their performance in the 2018 measurement period. HMSA recommends that PCPs use the 2017 measurement period as a practice year and work to achieve a performance rate of 70 percent or higher.
In response to feedback from PCPs, HMSA will revise the requirement for the Screening for Symptoms of Clinical Depression and Anxiety to exclude members diagnosed with depression or anxiety in the measurement year, or the prior year. The diagnosis codes for exclusions will be added to the Provider Resource Center.
Cozeva will update the members in the denominator using the new exclusion criteria by the end of May.
New IPA Staff
Dennis Ancheta, RN, joined the EHI team as Licensed Care Manager and Jessica Ku, PharmD, joined as a part-time Clinical Pharmacist.
