ANNOUNCEMENTS
HMSA Quest Enhancement Bonus In 2019, HMSA will continue to pay the QUEST Enhancement Bonus to PCPs and obstetricians who attested by December 2018. Payment will be based on claims with designated evaluation and management codes. The enhanced payment is usually made about one month after the close of the quarter. The payment for the first quarter of 2019 will be made in late April 2019. If a PCP did not attest in 2018, there is no need to contact HMSA to attest or register in 2019. The enhanced payment will be made available to all eligible PCPs once 2019 funding from the state has been assured. EUTF Open Enrollment – Tuesday, April 16IPA staff will attend the state/county employees union (EUTF) open enrollment sessions scheduled at ‘Imiloa to meet and greet employees seeking PCPs or specialists. EHI staff will share table space with HMSA (Kaiser is also participating) to receive names of patients seeking PCPs for referral to providers accepting new patients. Adults – HMSA Payment Transformation Meeting – First Quarter 2019 Check-in was held on Tuesday, April 17 at ‘Imiloa. Attached is a copy of the presentation. EHI staff prepared spreadsheets with information on performance to date and what needs to be done to maximize performance and reimbursement. Please also contact us if you would like to schedule an individual meeting in your office to review and discuss. In addition, Tiffany Pa of HMSA has coding cheat sheets available. Please contact us if you would like a copy. Members attending gave feedback regarding how the COREO system contributes to physician and office burnout. The IPA will share this feedback and encouraged Tiffany Pa, our provider services representative, to do the same.
HMSA Payment Transformation Meeting – Pediatricians – Tuesday, April 23 – 12:00-1:15 PM Purpose is to review 2019 engagement and quality performance measures for individual providers and the IPA; view progress to date & answer questions. Physician Aid in Dying Workshop Rescheduled – April 24, 5:30 PM The Physician Aid in Dying Workshop has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 24. Approved for 1.5 AAFP prescribed credits. RSVP attached.
OSHA Training Workshop Alan Yamamoto, HIOSH Consultation Project Manager, will offer a two-hour OSHA workshops for East Hawaii IPA Members on OSHA/HIOSH requirements on Tuesday, June 4 (date change), location TBD. THIS IS MEANT FOR CLINIC LEADERS WHO WILL CONDUCT THE TRAINING IN EACH OFFICE. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT FOR OSHA/HIOSH TRAINING OF ALL STAFF IN EACH OFFICE. Mr. Yamamoto is willing to schedule individual office visits after the presentation to help assess your compliance. EHI IPA Relay For Life Team EHI is joining the Relay For Life efforts in raising money for cancer awareness and research! Healthcare Source HR Screening Tool Available for Members – EHI offers member offices use of a complimentary employee screening tool. The tool helps assess whether staff you are thinking of hiring are the right fit for your office! The tool rates candidates numerically by job performance, retention and service excellence. It also customizes key questions for face-to-face interviews. This program has been used successfully by hundreds of healthcare organizations. Candidates are sent a link to the assessment with results forwarded to a designated office email address. Mountain-Pacific Quality Health CMS Million Hearts Hypertension Control Challenge – Applications are now open to practices who want to be recognized in the CMS 2019 Million Hearts Control Challenge. Walk with a Doc – Lili‘uokalani Gardens Park – Dr. Craig Kadooka – WWAD will be celebrating its 5th year of weekly walks in May! Every Sunday, WWAD meets at the park across the street from Hilo Bay Café. Come down to hear a short healthcare talk at 8:00 AM, followed by stretching, then off you go. Anyone is welcome to participate.
Mountain-Pacific Quality Health: New Patient Tool for Heart Health – Check the MPQH website for their heart health calendar. These are free for patients and can start anytime of the year and includes weight logs and health tips. These offer a fun and easy way for patients to monitor their weight. Beacon Health – PCP Referral for Behavioral Health Support – Beacon Health offers behavioral health services for HMSA patients. Attached is the referral form (here), the overview of services (here), and the WHO-5 Well-Being index tool (here).
