EHI IPA Future Plans   All provider members and their business partners are invited on Wednesday, October 17 at 6:00 PM to hear about the IPA’s future plans for restructuring to provide Management Services Organization (MSO) support to members and give members an opportunity to form a Medical Group that employs providers. The Board will present details on how to join the Medical Group and explain how the MSO would benefit the group practice and members at large. Providers (principals) and their business partners invited. Final Membership Dues Notice   A certified letter was sent to members who have not yet paid their 2018 dues with a final invoice for payment due October 1, 2018. If payment is not received by this date, we will assume that the member is no longer interested in membership. Providers who are not members are not able to participate in HMSA’s Payment Transformation contract and their patients that are part of the EHI IPA Health Center will need to be assigned to another IPA. HMSA Measure – Accepting NEW Patients + Demographics    HMSA is asking that you complete and submit the attached form by its deadline: Thursday, October 4 (updated quarterly). This form indicates whether your practice is accepting NEW HMSA patients for EACH line of business along with updated office demographics. We would also like to know if you are accepting new patients for carriers other than HMSA. Offices that still need to submit the forms are:

  • Drugs most commonly implicated in medication-related hospitalizations are warfarin, oral antiplatelets, insulins, oral hypoglycemic agents, digoxin and opioid analgesics.

  • In 2016, 40% of deaths due to opioid overdose involved prescription opioids: Methadone, Oxycodone, or Hydrocodone.
