Opioid Abuse & Misuse – Need Your Input!   The State of Hawaii Department of Health in partnership with the University of Hawai‘i is assessing ways to prevent and deal with prescription opioid abuse and misuse.  Please help by completing the online survey linked below (should take about 15 minutes). Board of Directors Meeting Update – July 5, 2017   The Board approved the appointment of the following members as East Hawaii IPA’s representatives:  Community First – Dr. Kevin Kurohara and Dr. Richard Lee-Ching; Regional Health Improvement Collaborative (RHIC) – Dr. Laurie Hopman and Dr. Peter Matsuura; Community Action Network (CAN–RHIC Initiative) – Dr. Michelle Mitchell.  The Board also discussed moving forward with a potential alliance with Hawaii Health Partners (HHP), wholly owned subsidiary of Hawaii Pacific Health.  Detailed discussions regarding payment contracting, care coordination and practice support services and administrative structure are currently underway.

Hawaii Health Information Exchange (HHIE) Annual Subscription   HHIE recently gave a presentation/demo to our members.  See attached information.  EHI will pay for up to 10 subscriptions. Please contact Jane at jbontuyan@ehiipa.com if you are interested in the subsidy.  First come, first served.

EHI IPA Office is MOVING!!   Starting July 24, 2017, EHI IPA will be moving to the first floor of the Ka Waena Lapa‘au Medical Building on the corner of Ponahawai and Komohana Streets.  Our new address is 670 Ponahawai St., Suite 117.
