Happy New Year!  On January 1, all administrative and program management was transitioned to Hilo (formerly handled by Pono Corp in Honolulu). Please note we changed our email addresses, website and phone numbers.

EHI IPA is trying to move quickly toward strengthening and integrating our member practices.  In order to communicate information in a timely and concise way, we will send you short bulletins once a week. We hope this will lessen the “burden” of you having to open and read frequent email messages, yet keep you regularly updated.

PLEASE SEND US TWO EMAIL ADDRESSES – ONE FOR THE PROVIDER AND ONE FOR A DESIGNATED STAFF MEMBER TO ENSURE MESSAGE RECEIPT. This is the first one and we will keep improving as we go.

  1. CPC+ Support: The IPA Board is still standing by its decision to recommend receiving support from HMSA’s PMSO and is waiting for HMSA to send the agreements. HMSA has verbally agreed to providing the IPA with significant financial support in addition to PMSO services. We are waiting to receive a project list and schedule. We will be organizing a meeting for CPC+ participants only in the next week to touch base. Will send out a separate announcement.

  2. The Board selected e-Clinical Works as the preferred EHR system for members and is negotiating a favorable group contract.  The Board is also considering financial incentives to individual practices who sign on.

  3. A few members suggested changing the East Hawaii IPA name so that it would cover all of Hawai‘i Island since we have new members located in Kona and Waimea. In addition, there was a suggestion that the mission statement change to replace “independent” with “integrated.” Your feedback would be appreciated.

  4. We are interested in hiring an administrative coordinator due to the increasing workload in the office. Happy to send a position description to anyone who is interested.

  5. Reminder to RSVP for Super Huddle (Tuesday, January 17 – Noon only or Wednesday January 18 webinar at noon). Calendar is being finalized for the rest of the year and will be emailed soon. Most updated calendar is on the new web site www.ehiipa.com.
