Membership Strategic Planning Retreat Follow-upThe Board at its meeting last night decided to form work groups to develop proposals and plans for the following four areas of importance to members. The four areas are: 1) tiered membership system for the IPA; 2) identifying possible consolidation models/partners or investors to create a long-term infrastructure for recruiting, retaining and employing physicians; 3) defining role then recruiting for a Chief Medical Officer to help lead infrastructure building efforts; and creation of a health and wellness foundation for advancing the health/wellness of providers, staff and patients. If you are interested in being part of any of these initiatives/work groups, please contact Susan Mochizuki at smochizuki@ehiipa.com. We will convene the first work group to get input on a “Tiered Membership” system for the IPA during the last week in January. We will be polling members regarding the best date (either evening on Tuesday, January 30, or morning on Saturday, February 3). Take survey here by January 18.
East Hawaii IPA has become a member of APG (America’s Physician Groups – formerly CAPG), a national organization that advocates for and provides education and other resources to physician groups. We are looking for members interested in engaging and being involved on behalf of the IPA in APG activities including their National Conference, Colloquium and Regional Meetings. The IPA is budgeting for the cost of associated travel and conference fees for physician/provider members who will consistently attend and be involved in the organization for us. We would ask EHI representatives to bring resources back to share with the IPA such as health plan contracting advice, quality performance reporting information, best practices, and potential consolidation partnership ideas. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Susan Mochizuki by 1/17/18 – smochizuki@ehiipa.com
