Adult Protective Services is a mandated service of the Adult Protective and Community Services Branch that provides:

This nutrition program provides nutritious lunches weekly to persons sixty years and older. Person’s who are unable to attend meal site can make arrangements for meal delivery (Meals on Wheels). Meal Sites includes:

Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD)

The Adult Mental Health Division serves, as the state mental health authority, adults needing health services. Individuals who receive services from the AMHD are generally:

  • Individuals who are at least 18 years old
  • If not, you may be referred to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division http://health.hawaii.gov/camhd
  • Residents of the State of Hawaii
  • Diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI)

CAMHD provides services to youth who meet clinical criteria for serious emotional or behavioral disturbance and who qualify for funding support from the state based on one or more of the following:

Easter Seals Hawaii - Early Intervention Services

Types of services are based on individual assessments, children enrolled in the program in the program may be eligible for services including:

  • Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) of services by professionals who work with their parents to meet their child’s developmental goals.
  • Parent coaching and family support from occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, special educators, and social workers.

Neighborhood Place of Puna

Hale Iki Family Assessment Center is a temporary emergency shelter for families with minor children who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.

Staff uses the Housing First Approach. Which means using participant-centered and work with families to address barriers towards permanent housing. Hake Iki is a low barrier program; do not require sobriety, mental health treatment, good credit, or any other housing ready requirements for you to enter the shelter.
