Why you should join the IPA

Big Island Docs (formerly East Hawaii Independent Physicians Association) is the only membership organization of its kind on Hawai`i Island, serving as a hub for independent private sector physicians and staff. Our organization is sensitive to the needs of our network. Services and programs vary depending on member priorities.

  • The following is a list of key membership benefits:

The Board of Directors, at its recent meeting in December 2024 unanimously approved a revision to our current membership dues structure. Effective January 1, 2025, annual dues will be $50.00 for members who are participating in the IPA’s HMSA Payment Transformation (renamed Primary Care) Program affiliated with Queen’s Clinically Integrated Physician Network (QCIPN). Dues for all other providers regardless of whether they are Tier A or Tier B will remain at $250 annually.

All IPA members (Tier A & B) receive the following benefits:

  • Annual Symposium registration discounts
  • Complimentary invitations to hosted special events (including the IPA’s Annual Meeting).
  • Hosted educational workshops
  • Access to eClinical Works integrated hub with bi-directional interface with Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS), Clinical Labs (CLH) & Hawaii Radiologic Associates (HRA).

Tier A members receive the following additional benefits:

  • Participation in HMSA’s East Hawaii IPA Health Center HMO.
  • QCIPN care management services and customized quality performance support.
  • QCIPN Medicare Shared Savings Program bonuses

  • Customized IT technical support

Requirements for Membership

      • HMSA provider number + date credentialed
      • Curriculum Vitae
      • Short paragraph of why you would like to join the IPA

  • Licenses accepted: MD, DO, ND, APRN, PA

  • Yearly membership fee: $50 (QCIPN PT Providers) $250 (Non QCIPN PT Providers) + Taxes
